Formed in Wilmette, Illinois in 2001 by Pete Wentz and Patrick Stump, Fall Out Boy are one of the most influential and well-known of all of the pop-punk bands to emerge during the early noughties. Utilising grinding guitars fused with upbeat, catchy hooks, FOB captured the Emo Zeitgeist, starting with their debut album 'Take This To Your Grave', released in 2003. It was their second album, however (From Under The Cork Tree) which produced their breakthrough single 'Sugar, We're Going Down' and catapulted Fall Out Boy to International stardom. From here, the band went on to receives a Beast New Band Grammy nomination and eventually produced their 2007 offering, 'Infinity On High'. Spawning the International hit singles 'This Ain't a Scene, It's An Arms Race' and 'Thnks Fr Th Mmrs', it is arguably their most well-known work and certainly their highest selling. Their next offering (Folie a Deux)was not as commercially successful as their previous recordings, and shortly after it's release the band took a hiatus to explore various side projects and release their greatest hits compilation 'Believers Never Die'. After regrouping in 2013, the band released the album Save Rock and Roll, which gave them their second number one hit My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'Em Up). In 2015, the group's most recent album (American Beauty/American Psycho) gifted them their third No. 1 album and top ten hits Uma Thurman and Centuries. In 2016, the band also collected awards from Disney, the Alternative Press Music Awards and Teen Choice in categories including Best Group, Artist of the Year and Best Vocalist. The band plan to release a new LP in September 2017 (Mania), and also have plans to tour North America in fall of the same year in support of their new release.
